Police:

The police are officially called the PSB (Public Service Bureau) and are usually very helpful to foreigners. They are easy to find and the emergency number is 110. The Chinese Government has attached a high regard to policing and justice and therefore everyone is fully expected to concur with the laws of China, as one who visits any other country. Large billboards display proud uniformed law enforcers in friendship with normal Chinese folk. Chinese TV is littered with crime fighting dramas showing handsome but aging cops (oddly enough, always uniformed and seldom undercover) beating the thugs, busting gang rings and blasting drug dealers away. Drugs are a definite no go and probably hold the highest penalty in China. Do not test any of the laws in China though.
